Development Associate

Job Title: Development Associate

Position Reports To: Co-Director Team

Stipend: All positions have a yearly $500 stipend, to be paid in quarterly installments of $125 (March, June, September, December).

Job Purpose: The Development Associate assists the Camp Co-Directors in the year-round needs of fundraising, development, and grant writing. The Development Associate administers ongoing correspondence with individual donors, and has primary responsibility for maintaining the donor and mailing databases, inputting and retrieving donation data and ensuring the accuracy of the database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective individual donor fundraising.
  • Generate acknowledgments for all gifts to individual donors.
  • Database management.
  • Assist in the coordination of the Annual Fun-Raiser Dinner & Auction, and other fundraising events.
  • Assist in the research and writing of grants.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Traits and Skills
Camp Ten Trees is looking for someone who is motivated, creative and imaginative. Applicants should possess strong proficiency in Excel, Word, Access, and other database programs. They should also be accurate and have good communication skills. Applicants should have some experience in event volunteering. Applicants should have an understanding of grant writing and be willing to learn grant writing research and writing techniques.

All Year-Round Staff Should Meet The Following Requirements:

  • Sensitivity to the LGBT Community.
  • Must be accurate and detail oriented; should possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet firm deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced Team environment.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Attend one required meeting per month and be available for additional meetings as needed.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (minimum of 15 hours per month), as needed by changing needs. (Most jobs can be worked around any general work schedule - days, evenings, weekends, etc.)
  • Follow all policies and procedures for year round volunteers.
  • Ability to pass a WA State background check.
